A few years ago, I started a list of the things I want to do or accomplish before I “kick the bucket.” I find myself adding things to this list every few months, and at this rate I really need to get crackin’ on crossing some of these items off! In this post, I’ll share a few of my bucket list items with you!
1. Eat a Waldorf Salad at the Waldorf Hotel.
I’m not even sure I’ll like a Waldorf salad, which consists of apples, celery, and walnuts dressed in a mayonnaise dressing on top of a bed of lettuce, but I still want to eat one of these iconic salads in the place it was created- The Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York City.
2. See the Egyptian Pyramids, the Grand Canyon, and the Northern Lights.
Not surprisingly, a lot of my bucket list involves travel. There are so many places in the world I want to visit, and these three are at the top of my list right now!
3. Read all of the BBC’s Top 100 books.
I love reading, but I feel like I’ve been really slacking off recently. I wrote down the BBC’s Top 100 books in the same notebook that contains my bucket list, and so far I’ve managed to finish 30. Only 70 to go!!
4. Run a Marathon
This is crazy. I’m not a runner. I don’t enjoy running. I’m not good at running. But yet, I want to run a marathon! I may let myself count a half-marathon, because even that is super ridiculous for me.
5. Go to Antiques Roadshow
I LOVE the PBS show Antiques Roadshow. They came to Birmingham recently, but I didn’t win the tickets to go (you can’t buy them, but they give them out like a raffle). I was DEVASTATED, especially when I was watching the episode on air and saw my boss on screen. He didn’t even want to go! Color me jealous. Anyway, I’m sure I’ll get a chance to go in the future! I have no idea what I’d bring, but I’m sure my parents and I could figure something out!
What are some of the things on your bucket list? Or, if you’ve done something on my list, how was it?
xoxo Katie
I want to go toMacchu Piccu, see the Great Wall of China and the terra cotta soldiers, and go to Tahaiti/New Zealand. I would also like to extend my 5 K to a 10K. I think I can do at least one of those!!

Those are awesome items!! I can vouch for Macchu Piccu and New Zealand, of course- both are amazing! I definitely want to see the Great Wall, too! And you should run the Enchanted 10k at Disney!
I was blessed to live in Germany for four years and loved traveling. Sadly, I feel I haven’t seen much of the U.S., at least not as much as I would like. At the top of my bucket list is to see New England in the fall…and go out on a fishing boat while I’m at it. This is a fun post!

Thank you so much! Yes, seeing the leaves change in New England (and spending Halloween in Salem, MA) are both on my mental bucket list- I need to write those down!
