Beauty Stocking Stuffers That Can’t Go Wrong

Beauty gifts falling out of a stocking

When it comes time to give Christmas gifts, the humble stocking can easily be overlooked. You get so wrapped up in finding the perfect gift that you’re faced with a mild panic on Christmas eve when you realize you’ve got nothing to stuff in a stocking! If that’s you, then don’t you worry; I’ve got you covered when it comes to the beauty lover in your life with these beauty stocking stuffers, no matter how much you know about beauty yourself.

1. A Classic Nail Polish or Eyeshadow

Classics are classic for a reason! They have been tried, tested, and positively reviewed by people of all different skin tones, which means that the pressure of finding a shade that works for your stocking-receiver is gone. For nail polish, I’d go with a pretty nude, like Ballet Slippers by Essie. This is literally described as “award-winning, best-selling” on their website. A win for sure! When it comes to eyeshadows, two that I swear by as universally flattering shades are a bronze and a shimmery champagne. I swear by my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze and my Urban Decay Moondust eyeshadow in Space Cowboy. Giving single eyeshadows is also less risky than a whole palette. Palettes are often way more expensive, and might not have shades your stocking receiver wants.

2. A Classic Lip Product

Lip products make great stocking stuffers since they are slim and can usually slide in to fill any gaps! However, as I’m sure you know, there are SO many lip product options to choose from. Balm, gloss, stain, satin, matte, liquid etc. etc., and that’s not even discussing color options! Again, it’s best to go with a classic. I love my Clinique Black Honey almost lipstick. This is a moisturizing, sheer lip product that blends with the unique shade of your lips to make a flattering color. There is literally no going wrong. True confession: I picked this up after reading it was used on Pretty Little Liars. Who wouldn’t want to look like one of those girls?!

3. A Sheet Mask

Sheet masks have exploded in popularity recently, and your beauty-lover will know this! Sheet masks are great because they’re single-use and super easy to deal with. A lot of them require no rinsing and no water, so they’re great to take on long-haul flights. The SNP animal sheet masks are a great stocking stuffer idea. They’ve got a few different options, but they’re all great, so you could literally just choose an animal that speaks to you! I recently tried this cat mask and loved the whimsical art on it!

4. Travel-Sized Hair Care

It's a 10 leave in product

Travel-sized products are great, especially when I’m not sure if I’ll love the product and don’t want to spend a huge amount of my paycheck on something I end up hating. That’s why I originally bought the travel size of the It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product. I ended up loving it (as you’re probably aware), but I still buy the travel size so I never have to worry about leaving it home while I travel. As an added bonus, these are small enough to squeeze in a stocking!

5. Makeup Brushes

Real Techniques brush

Another slim product great for slipping into stocking gaps is a makeup brush or two. Makeup brushes are essential for the beauty lover, and it’s honestly hard to have too many. Seriously, the more you have, the less often you have to wash them (bad Katie!). The brand that I use the most often is Real Techniques, for several reasons. First and foremost, they are great brushes. They’re very soft and apply my makeup beautifully. Secondly, they are easy to find and affordable. I buy mine at Ulta, and they even make sets if you’re going for a “greatest hits” kind of deal.

Of course I know there are so many other things that would go great in a stocking, but I thought these options were safe, fun, and highly rated. If all else fails, gift cards are great, too!

What are you hoping for in your stocking?

Honestly, I’d never thought of a sheet mask or any other skincare product as a stocking filler. However, after reading this post, it’s something that I should totally do! My friends will love me, and my teenage cousins will too. Thanks!

Great ideas, I love the cat mask! LOL. Cute!! We always do cosmetics and toiletries for stockings, but I love the idea of travel size luxury products, definitely something I wouldn’t tend to splurge on for myself 🙂

Thanks! I think I’ll start calling them “stocking sized” instead of “travel sized” this month 🙂
