I was recently sent a few of the products from the Estée Edit line – Estée Lauder’s younger, hipper sister – and I wanted to give you a summary of what I thought! The Estée Edit is a makeup and skincare line that targets a younger audience. The products are at a slightly lower price point than Esteé Lauder, but it is by no means a drugstore line.
The Products:
Light Night Eraser Brightening Eye Balm | $42.00
This is a refreshing eye balm with ingredients like pink peony, cucumber, apple, and powdered pearls to brighten up your under-eye area. I have been using this for about three weeks now and I love the cooling tip. I recently got a puppy, which means I haven’t been getting all the sleep in the world, so this product has been my savior! There have been several mornings recently where I’ve sat at my makeup table waaay longer than I needed to just rubbing this product on my face. I love how quickly it absorbs, and that it doesn’t negatively affect the way my concealer applies on top of it.
Radiance Activator Treat + Prep + Glow | $55.00
The packaging on this product was kind of confusing, but after a quick Google search I realized it was a serum/primer/highlighter? Apparently you can use it as a treatment, as a primer, or for an added glow on top of your makeup. I am always wary of putting luminizing products on my T-zone, so I’ve been applying this mainly to my cheeks at the same time I apply a primer to my T-zone. If I’m completely honest, I haven’t seen that much of a difference. At a $55.00 price point, I would have to see my skin noticeably more amazing to justify the price, so I’m not sure I think this product is worth it. I’d love to hear the opinion of dry-skinned ladies who have used this though!
Metallishadow Creme + Powder | $25.00
This is a duel product with a matte creme eyeshadow on top and a loose metallic powder shadow on the bottom. I received the color AquaNova, which is an emerald green. I have oily eyelids, so I’ve found that using a cream product as a base and a powder product on top really helps the longevity of my eyeshadow. I love that this product is still intense enough for a smokey eye, but not as intense as a black. Plus, I think the green really brings out the green in my eyes! I will say that I thought this particular product was a little too intense for my daily use, but there are several color options that I feel could work better on a day-to-day basis.
Inside Track Eye Kajal | $22.00
This dual-ended eyeliner pencils is supremely silky. I was sent the Twisted Teal/Tarnished Gold color and I’m a big fan. I usually smudge my eyeliner just a little bit when I’m doing my makeup, and this liner is really smudge-able! I have been putting the gold on my water line and the teal on my lash line and I really like it! It’s been a while since I’ve strayed from brown liners, but I like the subtle color this brings. As a side note, I haven’t sharpened this yet, which I can foresee being an issue since it’s so soft. I’ll update you on my SnapChat when the time comes!
Overall, I was fairly impressed with the four Esteé Edit products I tried and would love to try more! My favorites are the eye balm and the eye liner, which will most likely make it into my seasonal favorites- stay tuned!
Do you want to try any of these products?
