I’ve been seeing a LOT of super cute Galentine’s Day party pins on Pinterest lately, and they look like so much fun! Hanging out with your girlfriends, eating heart-shaped foods and drinking pink cocktails? Sign me up. Today’s makeup look is one I think would be perfect for a Galentine’s Day party- soft and feminine, but super easy so you don’t have to stress about smearing your lipstick as you tuck into some chocolate truffles.
The Base
I started off with a little of the Benefit Pore-fessional in my T-zone and the Estee Edit Radiance Activator everywhere else. I find that this is a pretty good combination for glowy, not oily skin. Next I used the Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream and the Urban Decay Naked concealer. This bb cream is a medium to light coverage product with a more natural finish than matte finish, and the Naked concealer has been my go-to for the past several months.
Blush and Bronzer
To set the slightly-dewier-than-expected bb cream, I used the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless powder, which I’ve raved about before. For bronzer I used the NARS Laguna, a cult classic, to lightly contour my cheekbones, jaw line, and around my hair line. The blush I used was Benefit Dandelion, a pretty, pale pink. Both the blush and the bronzer have a subtle amount of radiance in them, which I love but some might not.
Eyes
This eye combination is one that I use frequently, not just for parties. I’ll start off with the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze all over the lid. I use this as a base, since the creamy formula really locks into place once it sets. Love this product! Next I took some of the L’Oreal Infallible shadow in Amber Rush and applied some to my lid and just above my crease with my finger. This product is SO pigmented. Next is the Sweet As Candy eyeshadow trio from Wet ‘n’ Wild. I used the brown shade in my crease and the pink shade just on the center of my eyelid. I finished with my trusty Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz eyebrow pencil and the Bobbi Brown Eye Opening mascara.
Finishing Touches
To finish off, I applied a little bit of the Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminizer on my cheekbones, cupid’s bow (how appropriate!), and down the center of my nose. A little of this goes a long way, so just be warned! For my lips, I used the Meet Matte Hughes liquid lipstick in Committed from the Balm. It smells like vanilla mint, lasts forever, and is truly transfer-proof! Nosh away on that waffle bar to your heart’s content!
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all, wether you’re celebrating with your S.O., your girlfriends, your pet, or just a big glass of wine!
