Getting Pampered at Jo Malone

Recently, my friend and fellow blogger C.A. Marks at Moxie Beautiful asked me and a few other Huntsville lifestyle bloggers out to the Jo Malone London kiosk for a day of pampering. I, of course, jumped at the opportunity to meet a few of my fellow lifestyle bloggers and test out some of the lush Jo Malone products.

Back in September 2014, I heard that the newly built Belk at the Bridgestreet Town Centre would have a Jo Malone London kiosk and I freaked.out. I have heard so many British beauty bloggers rave about Jo Malone scents and candles, but I had never gotten the opportunity to try any products out. I bet a lot of Huntsvillians are unfamiliar with the brand, so I’ll tell you a little about Jo Malone London, as well as discuss my experience at the kiosk and highlight a few of my favorite scents.

Before I get into the products themselves, I should mention that C.A. is the best and had really done her research! She had laid out some Earl Gray tea and a popular English candy called Liquorice Allsorts. They paired so well together and were delicious!

Jo Malone London is part of the Estee Lauder Companies and is based in England. They make luxury fragrance products for bath, body, and home. The scents are delicately constructed, and as such, are meant to be layered over one another. I’ll touch more on that later.

With me and C.A. were J’Que of JQue Now,  D’An of Model Haven Boutique, and Lawanda of As the Wind Blows. C.A. started with a bath oil mixed with warm water, poured over a dish of smooth stones. This was such a nice soak for my hands and was so relaxing!

Next, C.A. went in with a body creme. For me, she used the Grapfruit on one arm and the Nectarine Blossom and Honey on the other. C.A. used different cremes on all of us so we would get to sample a fair few! A few others that stuck in my mind were the Orange Blossom and the Blue Agava and Cacao. This body creme left my arms and hands feeling so smooth and moisturized, it was crazy. J’Que was so funny; she kept sniffing her arms in turns and you could see how good they smelled!

What was really interesting is the next step. C.A. used the Peony and Blush Suede Cologne over the top of all of those body cremes, and they all  smelled phenomenal. It was like a cocktail mixing class- mixing and matching different scents to create something unique and delicious. And best of all, even though I had three different scents on (the bath oil, the body creme, and the cologne), it wasn’t overwhelming! I smelled fresh and light all day. Definitely a fan of Jo Malone.

I haven’t decided which was my favorite yet, but when I do, I am definitely going back to the Bridgestreet Belk to pick it up! I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to C.A. for organizing and running this whole day and that it was a pleasure to meet all of the Rocket City Lifestyle ladies that attended! Now go check out Jo Malone London, as well as all the blogs I linked above!
