If you’ve been following the trend reports for spring, you’ve definitely seen the color lilac all over the place. It’s the new millennial pink. From Victoria Beckham, to Valentino, to Michael Kors, designers all over the catwalk are showcasing spring trend lilac trousers, shoes, dresses, sunglasses, bags, and more. It’s often hard for me to take a trend from the runway and translate it into my wardrobe, but I feel like lilac is an easy thing to work with!
I recently picked up this simple, yet super feminine, light purple top from Target and I’m in love. It’s made of 100% cotton with a slight v-neck, a subtle vertical pattern, fluttery sleeves, and a keyhole opening in the back. The length slightly shorter than average, but not crop-top length.
Last weekend, I met my sister at the the mall here in D.C. to try and snap some cherry blossom photos. I’m super happy with the shots we got, even after literally the worst Uber ride of my life. Megan was a champ and kept my face in check (“Um, gorgeous, but… look less angry”).
I paired my lilac top with these adorable mid-rise ankle pants from Ann Taylor. They have this really sweet little lace cuff around the bottom of the pant that I think brings a touch of femininity. Annoyingly, I can’t find these anywhere online, but here is a really sweet pair of jeans with an eyelet detail that I also love. I finished the look with my blush mules from Kelly and Katie (similar) and my ASOS trenchcoat, another staple for spring!
Are you going to try the lilac trend this spring?
So pretty! Sorry about the terrible Uber experience, though!
