My Autumn Nail Polish Picks 2015

By the time this post goes live, you’ve probably noticed the abundance of tweets and posts all over the internet about how excited people are to transition their wardrobe into Fall. But don’t forget to transition your nail polish, too! Of course, there’s nothing wrong with rocking neon nails at Thanksgiving (you do you!), but I personally tend to opt for more earthy colors once the leaves start to change. Here are my top five drugstore/affordable nail polish picks for Autumn 2015!

Wet n Wild Wet Cement

1. Wet n Wild Megalast nail polish in WET CEMENT

This color is so hard to describe! It’s like a… greyish brown? Smokey nude? Whatever you want to call it, it’s one of my favorites. The brush is actually pretty big, so you don’t have to make 1230934 swipes on your nail to cover it. It’s opaque enough to only need two coats, and it stays put for at least a few days, which are all pretty good qualities to find in a nail polish that costs about $3.00.

Loreal Greycian Goddess

2. L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche in GREYCIAN GODDESS

Ok, confession. This polish is from the 2012 Colour Riche Iconic Muse Collection… HOW has it survived? Anyway, it is still available in stores for less than $5.00 and I love it. It’s a shiny grey with no glitter, which is sometimes hard to find! I love using a silver glitter polish on an accent nail with this one, but without it this color produces an uber-chic neutral shade for Autumn.

Essie Fall in Line

3. Essie’s FALL IN LINE

This dusky emerald grey-green is from Essie’s 2014 Fall collection and it was heavily worn last year. Even so, I haven’t grown sick of it and am including it in this season’s must-have polishes. This is a very opaque color that just screams for you to wrap your newly-painted nails around a PSL…

Revlon Long Shot

4. Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in LONG SHOT

Some people might consider an orange nail polish in Autumn a little cliche, but I am so pleased with this color! It’s a slightly muted burnt orange with a beautifully opaque and pigmented formula that I can’t get enough of. I wear a lot of neutral colors in the Fall, so a slightly more colorful color on my nails is a happy addition to my overall outfit this time of year. P.S. if you missed the YouTube video where I made these creepy apple shrunken heads, here is the link!)

Essie With the Band

5. Essie’s WITH THE BAND

Sometimes I feel myself kind of getting over red nail polishes, and then I stumble upon a color like this one. Essie’s website calls it a “toasted spice burgundy,” which I love, and it’s from this year’s Fall collection. I’ve got it on my nails as I’m typing this, and I feel so Autumnal!

What are your nail polish picks for Fall 2015?

I just heard a podcast this morning where a writer discussed how she paints her nails red if she’s writing something difficult (like trauma from her past in her memoirs) and I now want to paint my nails! I’ve never even cared about nail polish before 🙂 So thanks for the color suggestions!

Wow, that’s such a great idea!! I’m wearing Revlon Long Shot right now, and I have to say, I feel pretty sassy!
