My Fall Essentials

I’ve been looking forward to fall since, well… last fall. The weather is gorgeous, the food is amazing, the snug life really comes into its own, and everything is wonderful. It truly is my favorite season! Now that we’re solidly in October, I feel comfortable going ALL IN for fall, despite the temperatures still being in the 80s. Here are the things I’ll be eating, wearing, and just generally enjoying for the next few months!

What I’m Eating

  1. Have y’all BEEN to Trader Joe’s recently?! Holy crap, fall food heaven. I’ve been loving this butternut squash pasta, shaped like pumpkins! I’ve just been eating it with my normal three cheese marinara, and it’s delicious.
  2. Another TJ gem are these petite pumpkin spice cookies. The delicious shortbread is flavored with pumpkin spice and coated with yoghurt and sprinkles. Go get you some!
  3. You can’t live in, or even visit, Old Town Alexandria without seeing tons of the signature orange Misha’s coffee cups. And with good reason! Technically I’m still on the iced coffee (again, it’s still 80 degrees -_-), but they have great hot and cold options.
  4. Not pictured is Schlafly’s Pumpkin Ale. I’ve tried a respectable number of pumpkin beers through the years, and this one is hands down the best one. Runner up, behind by just a hair, is the Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale, if you’re looking to try a few good ones!

What Beauty I’m Using

  1. As long as there is fall, there will be darker lips for fall. One of my go-tos this time of year is Mac Diva. It’s a deeper, cranberry red matte lipstick for some serious drama. I tend to go verrrry minimal on the rest of my makeup when I wear this shade, just to let it speak for itself!
  2. Comfort is KEY in the fall, which means I take a lot of baths. I recently picked up the Monster’s Ball bath bomb from Lush. I haven’t used it yet, but it has scents of lime and neroli. How cute is this little guy! I also picked up the Sparkly Pumpkin bubble bar. I usually stay far away from things with so much glitter, but it just smelled so good! It’s got a mix of juniper berry, lime and grapefruit oils, and I can’t wait to try it.

What I’m Wearing

  1. I haven’t collected all my fall clothing yet, but I know for sure that these brown boot beauties are going to make a comeback. They make my accidental lumberjack cosplay easy as pie, and they’re SO comfortable. I bought them at DSW, and although this exact pair wasn’t brought back this year, this pair is extremely similar.
  2. I also grabbed this gray throw blanket at Target today and I can’t WAIT to snuggle up in it. It’s so, so soft, and what’s even better… it’s $20. Heck yes.

What I’m Smelling

  1. How could I do a fall post and not mention my all time favorite scent ever Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin?! Don’t worry, I didn’t forget 😉
  2. I also grabbed another favorite, Leaves. I have this one in a room spray as well, and I can’t get enough. With apple and cloves, this is a great one to stretch into winter as well.
  3. I can’t remember if I’ve bought Sweater Weather before or not, but it smells divine. Like the sparkly bubble bar, this candle has juniper in it, along with sage and eucalyptus.

What I’m Reading

  1. I feel terrible admitting this, but I haven’t seen The Silence of the Lambs 🙈 I thought it would be an appropriate read for the month of Halloween, and I’m lucky because I know next to nothing about the plot.
  2. Well-thought-out thrillers are my jam, and I loveedddd Gone Girl. One of my coworkers mentioned that Sharp Objects kept him on the edge of his seat the whole time he was reading it, so I can’t wait to dive in! I foresee a few dark circle days after staying up too late reading.

What I’m Watching

  1. What better way to celebrate Halloween month than with a movie about witches? To be honest, I watch Harry Potter year round, but Halloween and Christmas are my two favorite times of year to binge.
  2. Classics are classics for a reason. I will watch Hocus Pocus every Halloween until I die.

That’s what I’ve got planned for my fall. What are your favorite fall purchases so far this year?

I really enjoyed this post and it’s definitely got me in the mood for Autumn. I wish we had pumpkin shaped pasta in the UK! I’d be eating it with every pasta dish. 😍

Lol, I hear you! I’m definitely more inclined to have pasta when it’s so cute.
