Sniffing Out My Favorite Perfumes

I’m not one of those girls that has oodles and oodles of perfumes. While I love perfume, I tend to find a scent I like and buy it again and again. Therefore, my collection is small, but well thought-out. I tend to be drawn to sweeter scents that aren’t too sickening. I’m not the biggest fan of the “musky” perfumes, but you’ll figure that out fairly quickly! Today we’re talking about my favorite perfumes!

Givenchy Very Irresistable- $75 for 1.7 oz.

Givenchy Very Irresistible

I was in middle school when my obsession with Liv Tyler began. I saw Lord of the Rings and was like yep- girl crush. At that time, Liv was the face of the Givenchy Very Irresistible perfume so of course I had to run out and get it immediately. This perfume has been in my regular rotation for well over ten years, and I’ll never turn my back on it. It’s a floral scent with notes of rose and star anise, which surprised me to find out. I normally shy away from star anise! This is a fairly potent scent, so I usually do the “spritz and walk through” method of application.

Coach Poppy- $38.99 for 1 oz.

Coach Poppy

I just love how perfume scents are described. I mean, how fun would it be to write that something like, “The first impression delivers a mouthwatering, sparkling freshness while the heart of the fragrance tantalizes your senses with lush floral bouquets wrapped in an addictive crème brulee accord” ?? Ha! But that’s exactly what the description of Coach Poppy says. The main notes of this perfume are mandarin, gardenia, freesia, jasmine, and cucumber. It’s sweet, but light enough to not be sickening. This scent quickly became a favorite of mine, and as you can see, I’m almost out! I’ll definitely repurchase.

Marc Jacobs Honey- $54 for 1 oz

Marc Jacobs Honey

You may have heard me say this before, but I love bees. I think they’re fascinating, and if I could, I would keep them. Maybe one day, but for now, I satisfy myself by obsessing over all beauty products that have anything to do with bees. Propolis lip balms? Check. Manuka honey face masks? Gimme. So when I saw this Marc Jacobs Honey perfume, I was ALL. IN. This has notes of pear, peach nectar, honeysuckle, and of course honey. I find it sweet, but again, not overpowering. It’s fairly light, like you’ve been walking through a field of flowers being pollinated by bees. Hey, maybe I should be a perfume describer!

Giorgio Armani Sí- $28 for .33 oz.

Giorgio Armani Si

The Giorgio Armani Sí rollerball is the latest addition to my perfume collection. I had been considering this scent for a hot minute, but it was fairly expensive so I held off. I was SO happy when I opened it up as a gift on Christmas morning! This is described as a mixture of  blackcurrant nectar, airy florals, and musky blond wood. We’re going to forget about the confusing wording of this description (which airy florals- and what does that mean? How does blond wood smell different from brunette wood? Is there such thing as brunette wood?) and just focus on how delicious it is. It’s sweet, but warm at the same time. It is quickly becoming an absolute favorite!
