My Go-To Spring Makeup

Spring has officially sprung, y’all! The cherry trees and Bradford pears are blooming, and the pollen is on its way, but I’m still happy that I don’t have to deal with ice and heating bills. Now that it’s getting a little warmer, I’ve done a bit of Spring cleaning on my makeup routine to lighten it up. These are my go-to spring makeup products so far:

KatieActually Spring Face Makeup

Benefit The POREfessional Primer: This element hasn’t changed. I’m still 100% dedicated to this primer! It goes on so smoothly, and I really notice a difference in how long I stay shine-free when I use it. I’m almost out!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer– This is a cult classic for a reason. I love the way it hides my under-eye circles without creasing or looking cakey. Plus, the little sponge applicator head is so fun to smoosh on my face (anyone else?…just me?).

bareMinerals Matte Foundation– I have oily skin, so I really love that this product helps keep me shine-free without applying gobs and gobs of product. I love light powders in the Spring, and this is one of the classics. Plus, it has SPF 15, which is essential for protecting pasty winter skin during the seasonal transition.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo– Listen, my brows and I have always been at odds. It’s like they intentionally try to piss me off sometimes. Come on, how can you grow so long and yet be so sparse in places that matter? This powder duo helps them get their act together. We have a long way to go still, but we’ve come a great distance with the help of this little beauty. I still haven’t decided if I like the powder or the pencil better, but this powder is going to last me probably until I die or shave my eyebrows off out of contempt, whichever comes first.

Wet n’ Wild Eye Shadow Trio in Sweet as Candy– I mentioned this in one of my Youtube videos a while ago, and I still just love it. I saw Niomi Smart rocking a gooorgeous pink eyeshadow look and knew I had to give it a go. This trio works really well together, and the pink is the perfect shade of “oh I notice you but you’re not all up in my grill” that I love. Also, you can’t beat the price at $2.99.

CK One Color Mascara in Black– I got this as my free birthday gift at Ulta last year, and to be completely honest, I wasn’t over the moon. I mean, I was happy, but I hadn’t heard anything about it and was like of like “meh.” But y’all, let me tell you, I love this stuff. The wand can be adjusted to either give volume or definition, and I love the separation it gives my lashes. Thanks Ulta!

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso– I have said this time and time again, but I will never not love this blush. It is the most gorgeous peachy color ever that makes you seriously look like you’re glowing from within. It adds the perfect amount of glow to my skin to counteract the dullness that some mattifying products produce. Love. Forever. And always.

Loving your fresh, springy look here 🙂 I definitely prefer the Brow Powder Duo to the BrowWiz pencil. I feel like I have better control with the powder, and, yes, the powder form will last FOREVER! The pencil only lasted ~3 months for me…

Thank you Mary Lee! And yes, my pencil probably lasted about 3 months but was only a few dollars cheaper… Haven’t tried the pomade though, have you?

No, I have not tried the pomade. I swatched it at Sephora but was afraid it might be too harsh for me. I like the powder because it does a good job of filling in sparse areas while still looking pretty soft and natural.

Look for a house vlog attempt from me tonight, lol! I really think you should do an RCB workshop on that topic, just sayin.’
