I’ve gotten into a real groove with my makeup routine recently, and I haven’t really moved too many things into my rotation. I was so used to pulling the same products out of my drawer every morning that when I started to notice my mascara was running out, I was unprepared! One recent release that I remembered seeing people post about on social media was the NARS Climax mascara, so I thought I’d try it out!
The Product
I dropped into my nearest Ulta and was pleasantly surprised at the price of the NARS Climax mascara. I don’t know why, but I expected it to me more than $24. Don’t get me wrong, this price point puts it solidly out of high street prices, but it’s around the same level as Benefit, Too Faced, Urban Decay, and MAC products.
The product comes in a chic, bright red plastic tube and has a large, bristled, tapered brushed. The formula of the mascara itself is not waterproof, super lightweight, not too dry, and not too wet. The website claims that this mascara will “lift and build without clumping or flaking.”
The Review
I’ve been using this mascara daily for the past couple weeks, and overall, it’s good! Not great, but good. Although it claims volume is it’s main schtick, I saw more length than volume when I used the NARS Climax mascara. The brush does a really good job of separating your lashes out, and I didn’t have any problems with clumping. I’d say this is more of a daytime mascara, great for school or work, but not dramatic enough for intense night time looks. I will say that my lashes don’t feel crunchy or heavy when I’m wearing this, which is a huge plus for me.
What do you think from the photos? Will you try the new NARS Climax mascara?
