Rose gold has been around for a minute, but 2016 was its year. You couldn’t turn around without bumping into someone with a rose gold watch, or iPhone, or eyeshadow. Hell, it was even one of the Pantone Colors of the Year! I can definitely see why. Rose gold is the classier, more modern sister of yellow gold in my book, and being classy and modern are two things I aim for in my life. Therefore, when I opened my stocking Christmas morning to find a rose gold nail polish, I was thrilled.
This polish is called Meet Me at the Mirage by China Glaze and came to me in a set of four metallic mini polishes. This is the first one I reached for, but there is also a silver, a gold, and a ruby polish.
When I first slapped this on my nails, I was in a rush and only did one coat. I was skeptical but desperate, and I actually think it worked out well! I used my Seche Vite base coat and top coat the second time around, and of course the longevity of this polish was extended. It doesn’t last as long as my beloved Essie Gel Couture polishes, but I still get a good few chip-free days.
I love how this polish is exciting without being too in-your-face. The rose gold tones are a fairly neutral color option, but it’s a cut above the normal beige or nude polish. I haven’t tried this yet, but I’m sure it would be great for doing nail art, too.
All in all, I could see myself wearing this polish A LOT in 2017. It’s classy and modern, after all! What polishes have you been loving recently?
Looks like a gorgeous shade 🙂

Thanks Cassandra! It’s one of my favorite new nail shades 🙂
LOVE!! I have a similar essie color – the metallic is SO forgiving when doing an at-home mani/pedi 🙂
