If you have ever logged on to TheBeautyDepartment.com, stalked Lucy Hale on Instagram, or swooned over Lauren Conrad’s perfect waves, then you are familiar with hair genius Kristin Ess. When I heard she had come out with her own Kristin Ess Target hair care line, I was super stoked. I’ve picked up a few of her products and they’ve made their way into my permanent rotation. Not that long ago, I cut five (FIVE!) inches off my hair, so today I thought I’d show you how I’ve been styling my mid-length hair. Spoiler alert: it involves an amazing Kristin Ess texture spray.
After washing and conditioning my hair, I brush through it with a Wet Brush. If you haven’t picked up one of these gems, you’re missing out! If your hair gets really tangly, like mine, this is a godsend. Next I add a dollop of the Got 2b Volumaniac Mousse to my roots and work through my hair. Just to make sure it’s well-distributed, I brush through my hair again with the Wet Brush. Then comes rough-drying my hair. I don’t do anything special here, just blow until dry!
Once my hair is dry, I use the Tresemme Heat Tamer spray to protect my locks from the heat. The curling wand I use is the Nume Titan 3-in-1 with the 25mm wand attachment. I love this curling wand and definitely recommend it! It comes with three barrels that are easy to change out, it heats up incredibly fast, and it makes my curls last all day. Using my wand, I curl sections of my hair in alternating directions, leaving my “mohawk” section for last.
Now for my favorite part! Texture makes my curls last longer, plus gives my hair the extra volume it needs. Texture sprays can be so expensive though! The Kristin Ess Dry Finish Texture Spray is affordable at $14.00, and, best of all, EFFECTIVE. It adds just the right amount of grit, smells lovely and floral, and leaves your hair touchable. I use it on my roots to jujj up my hairstyle. For my finishing touches, I use a light coating of the Tresemme Tres Two hairspray and the smallest amount of the Nuxe dry oil on my ends.
So there’s my go-to mid-length hair style- ta daa! I highly recommend checking out the Kristin Ess line at Target, but run fast before it sells out!
