The 2019 Nail Polish Trend You Can Wear to Work

From bright cuticles, to gradient neutrals, to press-on stickers, summer 2019 nail trends are one word: FUN. Looking at photos of the 2019 Spring/Summer runway trends gave me tons of inspiration, but, like fashion, translating runway looks to every day can be difficult. This weekend, I decided to try out two trends I saw and loved — the metallic accent and the blank space — in a way that was fun, but could still fly under the radar at the office.

I love a good metallic nail, especially when that color is rose gold. I decided to pair my Essie Penny Talk with my Essie Eternal Optimist in this look, that incorporates a chevron blank space. I started off with my Seche Vite Base Coat and allowed that to dry. Then, I used a few pieces of scotch tape, cut thinly, and placed them in a V on each nail, separating the cuticle from the rest of the nail. I then painted two coats of Penny Talk on the cuticle and two coats of Eternal Optimist on the top, finishing it off with a coat of Sally Hanson Insta-Dri Top Coat!

Even though you can (and should!) wear whatever nail polish you want to the office, I understand that some people may want to be more conservative in the work place. I love the look of this, and it’s such a fun way to mix up your summer nails.
