I absolutely love the Oscars. I’m not sure if you’ve picked up on the Oscars theme invading my Twitter and Instagram pages, but it has been prevalent, to say the least. I’m actually writing this as I’m splitting my time between THREE broadcasts. I know… I know… Let me preface this post by saying that I know that the Academy Awards are about celebrating achievement in film, not fashion, and I totally get that. The thing that matters most about this night is the quality of the talent in that room, not how well they’re dressed. Anyway, I thought I’d quickly share my top picks for best dressed at this year’s Oscars anyway, because it’s a part of the ceremony that I really enjoy every year!
10. Charlize Theron
God, this woman is so gorgeous. You could throw a trash bag on her and I would put her in a best-dressed list. While I’m not the biggest fan of her hair tonight, I am drooling over her stunning Harry Winston necklace. It’s nearly 50 carats, and it sits so perfectly in the neckline of her Christian Dior dress.
9. Cate Blanchett
Again, not a huge fan of Cate’s Armani Prive gown. To me, she sort of looks like a hummingbird feeder. However, she looks AMAZING from the neck up! Her hair and makeup is gorgeous. So soft and glowing.
8. Rachel McAdams
While this isn’t my absolute favorite dress on the red carpet tonight, you have to admit that Rachel McAdams looked gorgeous in this August Getty Atelier gown. I think my favorite part of her ensemble are her Stuart Weitzman heels. I guess I’m just really loving the silver shoe trend!
7. Jennifer Garner
Ok, maybe this is awful of me to say, but she is really showing Ben Affleck what he’s missing in this Atelier Versace gown. I think my favorite part of her outfit are her Neil Lane earrings. I love that pop of color!
6. Alicia Vikander
I have to be honest- I’m not the biggest fan of the dress on the winner of Best Supporting Actress. I don’t really like the mullet bubble hem. I do love the Belle vibes going on, though, and Alicia made my list based on her AMAZING shoes. These custom Louis Vuitton beauts are welcome to hang out in my closet any time they want.
5. Naomi Watts
Naomi is one of those actresses that you can count on to just nail a red carpet. This purple-y, blue-y, ombre, mermaid-y dress from Armani Prive doesn’t disappoint! She definitely got the sequin memo, that’s for sure.
4. Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy is already one of my favorite humans in the public eye. She cracks me up. However, there’s nothing funny about her baby bump debut tonight in this beautiful Marchesa gown. I heard that she popped some sequins off and had people rushing to fix her dress at the last minute!
3. Margot Robbie
Margot Robbie is definitely channeling Oscar himself in this gorgeous, golden Tom Ford dress. I love how natural she kept her hair and makeup, since the dress itself is so glamorous.
2. Olivia Wilde
When I saw her walk out, I was like daaaang that’s a neckline! However, that’s kind of been a theme on the red carpet this year, and I’m LOVING her all-white Valentino Haute Couture ensemble. The real show-stopper for me tonight is her hair. It’s glamorous, but the crown braid is something we can definitely replicate ourselves for work tomorrow.
1. Saoirse Ronan
Yesss Saoirse KILLED it this year!!! Love the dress, love the hair, love the makeup (love her accent). She said that her custom Calvin Klein dress is as comfortable as sweats, but I’m not sure I believe her! She’s causing a stir with her mismatched Chopard emerald and diamond earrings, but I’m kind of feeling it. What about you?

They all had really lovely dresses on, although some were a bit long but that’s what the red carpet is about isn’t it, go big or go home! Haha I really loved Charlize Therton’s classy red dress and Chrissy Teigan’s! Lovely post!

Thanks Angie! I totally agree- I know I would trip like every single step if I wore a dress like Rachel McAdams’!
